1. Where will I go?
You may have more options than you realize. A one-floor rancher, condo, 55+ community, rental, the Jersey Shore, moving in with or closer to your daughter or son, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Savannah, or even staying right where you are. I’ll help you compare the lifestyle, costs, timing and practical pros and cons of each choice.
2. What do I do with all the STUFF?
You do not have to empty an entire house in a weekend. Start small: one drawer, one closet or one bag at a time. We’ll sort things into keep, family, donate, sell and discard. My Downsizing Roadmap gives you manageable daily, weekly and monthly steps so the process feels doable instead of overwhelming.
3. What is my home worth?
Online estimates are only a starting point. I’ll look at recent comparable sales, your home’s condition, upgrades, location, lot, layout and current competition. Then I’ll help you understand a realistic selling range and how pricing strategy can affect both your timeline and your bottom line.
4. Should I sell first or buy first?
There is no single right answer. Depending on your finances and comfort level, we can consider selling first, coordinating closings, negotiating extra time, using a rent-back, delaying settlement, or discussing bridge and other financing options with a lender. I’ll help you build a plan around your timing instead of forcing you into someone else’s timeline.
5. Would a 55+ community be right for me?
Maybe, but the clubhouse is only one part of the decision. I’ll help you compare home styles, HOA fees, maintenance responsibilities, rules, location, amenities, social opportunities and resale considerations so you can decide whether the lifestyle actually fits the way you want to live.
6. Should I make repairs before selling?
Not automatically. Some repairs and cosmetic updates can improve marketability, while others may not return what you spend. I’ll walk through the home with you and help prioritize what to fix, refresh, leave alone or disclose so you can avoid spending money where it will not help the sale.
